the children of the forest

months before, during the planning of our trip, we chanced upon the mention of seoul forest in one of the seoul guide books. we had never heard of it and we were intrigued that it had an eco-forest where there were deers! we went there one afternoon and contrary to our worries, it is really simple to get there because huge directional signages are put up right at the exit of the subway.

seoul forest is a huge undiscovered gem in the big treasure box that is seoul. i can't believe not more tourists were hanging out in the park or that more had been said about it. it is an absolutely wonderful space. we spent an entire afternoon there, walking and cycling throughout the whole park. there is the eco-forest where there is a deer enclosure, insect garden, sculpture garden and several playgrounds scattered all over the park. of course, all these makes the park an extremely popular place for an afternoon school excursion. school kids were everywhere, playing and picnicking, they were all so adorable, i couldn't get enough of taking their photographs.

fun (& random) fact: my friends and i call the little kids "ducklings" because a lot of them wear yellow and they are always trailing after their teachers in a little line. aren't they all so adorable? i want to pinch all their cheeks!
