10.10.10

...and we reach the month of October. I can't believe that 3/4s of 2010 has passed us by. It's been a good year of endings and new beginnings so far. To say that I am excited for the next couple of months is a understatement. I have three projects that I am currently working and there's likely to be a family trip at the end of the year to Cambodia!

This October is also going to be special because the second Saturday of the month, the date will be 10 October 2010. 10.10.10. Such a perfect date, don't you think? Well, there are at least two groups of photographers who think so! I have joined two groups of photographers, committing to take a picture anytime, anywhere, as long as it's on 10.10.10.

The first is the Worldwide Moment. It bills itself as a not-for-profit simultaneous photography event to create international peace, art and cultural awareness. You have to take a photograph on 10.10.10 at 10:10am GMT, regardless of medium. Afterwards, you can upload your photograph, location and a short story to the website. Photographs may be chosen to create books and gallery exhibits!

The second group is set up by photographer Heather Champ. All you need to do is snap a photograph at any time, using any medium on 10.10.10 and upload it later to the tententen flickr group. Photos will be displayed on Heather's 101010 page.

October 10th, A most auspicious day

So, join in the fun, everybody! 10.10.10 is definitely a day to be immortalised!
