Holga 135BC 12: Grad Trippin' in South Korea

Today may be Wednesday but it's the second last day of the work week for me! Yay! Friday is Hari Raya, a Muslim holiday and an official public holiday for everybody. Thank you, Singapore Government! I am so excited to finally have another short work week. It's been rather boring these few days so I am glad to have a long weekend to do some exciting stuff. Plans for now include stuffing our faces with mussels for dinner on Thursday, shopping at Ikea with Mum and a bbq buffet dinner on Friday. Exciting, yes? :)

Continuing on with the rolls. Roll 12 means we are reaching the end of the pictures from Korea. Even though it was about 4 months ago (seriously that long?!), uploading all this pictures onto the blog makes it feel like yesterday. I am missing Korea so much all over again.



Roll 12 contains more of Everland, where the setting sun gave me some brilliant colours, and the next day in Insadong, Korea's cultural street.

Roll 13 will showcase pictures from Seoul and Hong Kong. We did an extended transit in Hong Kong to take in some of that crazy HK atmosphere. Really glad we did it even though leaving Seoul was difficult but getting to experience another city's vibe was awesome!

Oh, and I developed a couple more rolls taken with my Golden Half, really happy with those shots I take. I will try to upload them this week to break up the monotony of all these Holga shots. See you then!

Holga 135BC 11: Grad Trippin' in South Korea

Roll 11 is all about Everland, Korea's version of Disneyland. Disneyland is more technologically advanced but Everland still has a primitive and magical charm to it. Oh and I must add this, I love Kodak Color Plus film! The colours are so freaking gorgeous! I definitely need to find more of this film.

Holga 135BC 10: Grad Trippin' in South Korea

Hurrah! It's the weekend! :)) What's everybody's plans?

I am going to have a girly lunch tomorrow, and after lunch, we are going to head out en masse to the Ben & Jerry's ChunkFest! ICE CREEAAMM!



I am falling miserably in uploading all my rolls! So get ready for quite a few entries this weekend because I  am going to target uploading to my 15th roll! Best to aim high, right?

Film: Agfa HDC Plus

This is a rather odd film, no? I ran out of the rolls that I brought to Korea midway through the trip. Silly me thought that I would need two days to finish a roll. Luckily in Busan, I noticed this little, obscure camera shop. I went in and found a treasure trove of old, expired films! I bought this Agfa, a Konica Centuria and some Kodak slide films. The owner was so odd, she kept trying to dissuade me from buying the films. I would have thought she would have been happy to find a buyer for all her old stuff. But anyway, I really like this film because it's like the opposite of slide films. Soft, pale colours that gives the images a very dream-like quality. I have only one more roll for this film. Going to preserve it for a special occasion!

I changed my film midway through my visit to Gyeongbokgung and then used it all way through our afternoon at the Han River. I love all the shots at the river, it was a slightly colder and hazier day and this film made the haze into a beautiful, dreamy mist.

And we come to Roll 09! We finally made our way back to Seoul after traipsing around South Korea! Took things easy by going for an afternoon stroll at Cheonggyecheon, a stream that runs through the industrial part of the city. The remarkable thing about this stream was that up to a few years ago, it was an eyesore for Seoulites. The government cleaned it up in the past few years and it is now a recreational area to hang out and escape the heat.

The next day, we visited Gyeongbokgung Palace, the main and largest palace in Seoul.

I was really surprised when I saw that I got another accidental mx shot! I probably didn't turn the crank properly for this two shots for this result to happen. I did a stitch of the two shots and I love it!

LomotionSG School Doubles

I just joined another lomography competition! A couple of forum users from Lomotion, a local Singaporean lomography forum, are organising Lomotion School Doubles, a doubles photography competition. We have to shoot our rolls in a school. Once we are done with our rolls, we exchange with our partners and shoot the second layer! It should be really fun and I can't wait for the competition to start. I am already plotting in my head which locations and landmarks in the university that I will be shooting!
